2013 – SENIOR SEASON
Played in all 12 games with 11 starts as an inside linebacker. Named a team captain. No. 1 tackler in NCAA Division I-FCS with an average of 12.0 takedowns per game. Broke NCCU single-season record with 144 tackles. Voted to All-MEAC Second Team and named to
College Sports Madness All-MEAC First Team. Two-time MEAC Defensive Player of the Week (Sept. 23, Nov. 4). Collected season-high 18 tackles (12 solo), including 2.0 hits for a loss with a sack, along with a forced fumble against No. 13/12 Bethune-Cookman (Nov. 2). Recorded 17 tackles and a forced fumble versus No. 4 Towson (Sept. 21).
2012 – JUNIOR SEASON
Played in eight games, including the final seven contests as a starting linebacker. Joined team late while waiting to be cleared as a transfer, then proceeded to average a team-best 10.0 tackles per game with 80 total takedowns. Would have topped MEAC in tackles per game, but did not play in the required 75 percent of the team’s games to be listed among the MEAC or NCAA statistical leaders. Also had 6.5 hits for a loss, 2.0 sacks, two fumble recoveries with one returned for a 32-yard touchdown, and an 80-yard interception for a TD that was featured on ESPN SportCenter’s Top 10 Plays list. Recorded at least eight tackles in every appearance. Amassed season-high 12 tackles (6 solo), including a tackle for a loss and a fumble return for a touchdown, versus South Carolina State (Oct. 6) in the 29th Circle City Classic inside Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. Collected 8 takedowns, a fumble recovery and an interception returned 80-yards for a touchdown against Hampton (Oct. 18) during a Thursday night telecast on ESPNU, earning the MEAC Defensive Player of the Week award. Tallied 11 tackles three times – at Morgan State (Oct. 13), at Florida A&M (Nov. 10) and versus North Carolina A&T (Nov. 17).
TRANSFER (N.C. Wesleyan)
Transferred to NCCU from N.C. Wesleyan, an NCAA Division III program located in Rocky Mount, N.C. Recorded a school record 227 takedowns over his two-year career. Named Second Team All-American by BSN (Beyond Sports Network), Second Team All-South Region by D3Football.com, and USA South Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Year as a sophomore in 2011. Amassed program-record 129 tackles (73 solo), 16.5 hits for a loss of 61 yards, 5 sacks, 2 forced fumbles, a fumble recovery and an interception during 2011 season.
