2017 - REDSHIRT JUNIOR SEASON
Played in all 11 games, including 2 as the starting running back. Accumulated 108 rushing yards with a touchdown on 36 carries. Collected 9 receptions for 124 yards, averaging 13.8 yards per catch. Contributed 6 tackles (4 solo) on special teams. 

2016 - REDSHIRT SOPHOMORE SEASON
Played in all 12 games, including 8 as a starter. Voted All-MEAC Second Team. Rushed for 632 yards and 5 touchdowns. Ranked fifth in the MEAC with 632 rushing yards. Averaged 4.9 yards per carry. Added 20 receptions for 238 yards (11.9 yards per catch). Averaged 72.5 all-purpose yards per game. Rushed for season-high 116 yards with a touchdown on 19 carries and a 42-yard reception at Bethune-Cookman (Oct. 1). Amassed 112 rushing yards and a touchdown on 14 runs at Delaware State (Nov. 5). 

2015 - REDSHIRT FRESHMAN SEASON
Appeared in nine games as a reserve running back. Rushed for 258 yards and three touchdowns. Averaged 4.0 yards per carry. Long rush of 19 yards vs. Bethune-Cookman (Oct. 3). Caught eight passes for 49 yards. On special teams, collected three tackles and recovered a fumble. Rushed for season-high 56 yards and a touchdown on 10 carries and had a 13-yard reception at Howard (Nov. 14). Recorded 54 rushing yards and a touchdown on 14 rushes at Savannah State (Oct. 17).

NEW HANOVER HIGH SCHOOL:
2013:  Named Second Team All-Mideastern Conference as both a running back and specialist. Amassed 21 touchdowns (19 rushing) and 3,000 all-purpose yards (1,200 rushing yards, 600 receiving yards). Rushed for five touchdowns and 251 yards against Purnell Swett (Sept. 13, 2013). Accounted for five touchdowns - all in the first half – in the first round of the NCHSAA 4A playoffs against Northern Durham (Nov. 15, 2013), with 5 carries for 52 yards and 3 touchdowns, and 8 receptions for 151 yards and 2 touchdowns. Team finished with 9-4 overall record. Received Top Athlete Award at New Hanover High School.

Born December 12, 1995 in Wilmington, N.C. Parents are Tyson and Jennifer Simpson. Brother Tyson (baseball) and sister Joy (softball) were both student-athletes at NCCU. Major at NCCU is business.
