Graduated from the Josephine Dobbs Clement Early College High School on the campus of North Carolina Central University, but player football for Southern High School. Two-time All-Conference pick as defensive end. Recorded 56 tackles, 12 sacks and 8 tackles for a loss in 2010. Played at Southern High School under head coach and former NCCU standout defensive back Adrian Jones.
