2016 - REDSHIRT SENIOR SEASON
Voted to Preseason All-MEAC First Team. Announced to Preseason BOXTOROW All-America Team, honoring the top players from HBCUs.

2015 - REDSHIRT JUNIOR SEASON
Played and started nine games at linebacker (missed Duke and FIU contests).  Collected 47 tackles, including 4.5 hits for a loss with 3.0 sacks. Added two pass break-ups, a forced fumble and a recovered fumble. Amassed season-high nine tackles with a sack against Bethune-Cookman (Oct. 3).  

2014 - REDSHIRT SOPHOMORE SEASON
Played and started 11 games at linebacker.  Notched a team second-best and career-high 76 total tackles, with 36 unassisted takedowns and 40 helpers.  Recorded one pass breakup, one quarterback hurry and one fumble recovery.  Had a career-best six tackles-for-loss and half of a sack.  Amassed team-high 15 tackles against Howard (Oct. 4).  Picked up first career assisted sack against Elizabeth City State (Sept. 6).  Nabbed first career interception on a pick-six for 26 yards against Charlotte (Sept. 13).  

2013 - REDSHIRT FRESHMAN SEASON
Played in 11 games. Recorded 4 tackles (3 solo). Tallied a solo stop in 3 of the first 4 games (Duke, Charlotte, Towson).

SOUTHERN HIGH SCHOOL
Picked All-Conference. Played at Southern High School under head coach and former NCCU standout defensive back Adrian Jones. Earned A-B Honor Roll recognition.

Born June 6, 1994 in Elmira, New York.  Parents are father John Thompson and mother Shelia Norris.
