Travis Taylor joined the North Carolina Central University football staff as the Director of Football Operations in August 2017, and was promoted to Assistant Athletics Director for Football Operations in February 2020. Taylor also serves as an adjunct professor teaching a university seminar course.

Before arriving at NCCU, Taylor was the Assistant Director of Student-Athlete Services at Jacksonville University for the 2016 football season. Taylor spent the 2015 season with the University of South Carolina football program as the Operations Assistant and Life Skills Assistant.

Taylor earned his bachelor’s degree in justice studies from Winston-Salem State University in 2012, and later received his master’s degree in public administration from NCCU in 2015. He was selected for participation in the distinguished Thurgood Marshall Leadership Institute in 2011.

He has attended the NCAA Life Skills Symposium, the NCAA Emerging Leaders Seminar, the NCAA Regional Rules Seminar and the National Association of Academic Advisors for Athletics (N4A) Convention. He also serves on the National Teamworks Football Committee, as the only HBCU representative.
