Lamar Manigo joined the NCCU staff in 2011 as the wide receivers coach.
After graduating from Bowie State University in 2007, Manigo joined head coach Henry Frazier III’s Prairie View A&M staff as an offensive assistant. Two seasons later and after earning a master’s degree from Prairie View, he took over the wide receivers in 2009.
Manigo was a four-year starting quarterback at Bowie State from 2003-06, playing his rookie season with the Bulldogs under Frazier’s tutelage. He guided BSU to the 2005 CIAA Championship Game against NCCU, and set school records for touchdown passes thrown in a game, season and career.
A CLOSER LOOK...
After serving two years as Prairie View’s offensive assistant, Manigo took over the wide receivers unit entering the 2009 campaign.
Manigo spent the past two years as Prairie View’s offensive assistant and was responsible for analyzing game film, assisting with quarterbacks and gameday operations. With Manigo’s assistance, the Panthers have posted back-to-back winning seasons along with several players achieving career-highs at their respective positions.
Prior to arriving at Prairie View, Manigo played collegiately at Bowie State University and was a four-year starter at quarterback. While at BSU he served as team captain for three years and holds the BSU record for most touchdown passes in a career, season and game. In 2005, Manigo led the Bulldogs to the CIAA Championship Game following an eight-win season and a berth in the Pioneer Bowl. For his efforts on the field, he was selected as a Baltimore Touchdown Club All-Star. After a solid 2006 campaign, Manigo was rewarded for his efforts on the field as he was named Bowie State’s Offensive MVP.
Manigo graduated from BSU in 2007 with a bachelor’s in business administration. He also holds a master’s of counseling from Prairie View A&M in 2009.
