Evan Harrington joined the North Carolina Central University football coaching staff prior to the 2021 season as tight ends coach.

Harrington was the Assistant Director of Player Development and an Offensive Assistant with the Washington Commanders from 2019-2021. As the Assistant Director of Player Development, he was responsible for helping guide the development and education of Commanders players as it pertains to both their personal and professional lives, and assisting rookie classes with acclimating themselves to the life of the NFL. As an Offensive Assistant, Harrington worked with the Running Backs and Offensive Line under Randy Jordan and Phil Rauscher. During his time as an Offensive Assistant, Harrington worked with Adrian Peterson as he broke several NFL rushing records during the 2019 season. During the 2020 season with the Commanders, they won the NFC East Championship. 

Harrington was the Run Game Coordinator/Running Backs Coach at Independence Community College in 2018, which was featured in the 2019 Netflix show Last Chance U.
 
Harrington was the Head Coach of the Winterthur Warriors in the Swiss Football League from 2015-2018 and played running back and linebacker for the Frankfurt Galaxy in 2015 and the Basel Gladiators in 2014. Before playing in Europe, he coached the running backs at Clayton Valley High School, where he mentored current Chicago Bears defensive back Xavier Crawford. He was also a Graduate Assistant at Colorado in 2012. 

Harrington played one season for the Edmonton Eskimos in the Canadian Football League in 2011, after spending time with the San Diego Chargers. 

Harrington played linebacker at College of the Canyons from 2007-2010. He then earned a scholarship to play at the University of Colorado from 2010-2011. He played linebacker his junior year and transitioned to fullback his senior season. He graduated with a degree in Sociology.

Born in Washington, D.C., Harrington is married to his wife Daniela. Â
