Dan Owen joined the North Carolina Central University football staff as an assistant coach working with the safeties prior to the 2021 season.
Owen began coaching after earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Sports Management from Florida Tech. From 2013-17, he coached at Florida Tech, where he served as cornerbacks and wide receivers coach. He also spent time as the special teams, video, community service, and academic coordinator.
In 2018, the Los Angeles native became the defensive coordinator for Keiser University. Additionally, he was the special teams and video coordinator for one season.
For the 2020 campaign, Owen was a defensive graduate assistant for East Carolina University.
During the spring of 2021, he was the special teams analyst at Florida Atlantic University.
