Antonio King joined the North Carolina Central University football staff as running backs coach in 2019.
King spent the previous year as head coach at Cedar Ridge High School (2018). He was also the head football coach and athletics director at Hargrave Military Academy (Va.) in 2017.
During the 2016 football season, King served as the running backs coach at East Carolina University.
King made his mark at the high school level by leading Hillside High School (Durham, N.C.) to six straight conference championships and the 2010 North Carolina High School Athletic Association (NCHSAA) 4A State Championship with a perfect 16-0 record. King also earned the PAC-6 Coach of the Year award in 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015.
King began his collegiate playing career in 1993 as a quarterback at Howard University before transferring to North Carolina Central University in 1996. He earned his bachelor's degree in parks and recreation management from NCCU in 2005.
