Andre George

A four-year starter in the NCCU secondary (2002-03, 2005-06), Andre George returned to the Eagles as a coach during the 2010 campaign, assisting with the defensive backs.

During the prior three seasons (2007-09), he coached defensive backs and assisted with outside linebackers at Southern High School (Durham, N.C.), helping the Spartans to three straight PAC-6 titles.

As a student-athlete at NCCU, George amassed 150 tackles and 10 interceptions. Seven of his picks came during his senior season in 2006, when he earned first team all-CIAA and first team all-region honors. He collected a season-high six tackles to go along with an interception and a pass break-up during the 2006 CIAA Championship Game win over Elizabeth City State. He also made six stops in the 2005 CIAA title game to aid the Eagles to victory over Bowie State. As a junior in 2005, George returned from an injury become the team’s second-leading defender with 59 tackles.

A native of Columbia, Md., George graduated from NCCU in December of 2007 with a degree in public health. He spent the next three years in the health promotion field, getting people to live healthier lives through his work with the Center for Health and Healing and Duke Prospective Health.

He and his wife, Krystal, are the proud parents of a daughter, Haleigh.
