Brandon Gilbert 2006CAREER (2004-08):
  • NCCU football's all-time leading scorer with 279 points;
  • Holds or shares every kicking record in school history;
  • Holds school records for career field goals made (44), career extra-point kicks made (147), single-season field goals made (16), single-season extra-point kicks made (48), single-game extra-point kicks made (10), and consecutive extra-point kicks made (104);
  • Shares the school record for field goals made in a game (4), accomplished during the 2005 CIAA Championship Game, including the game-winner with three seconds remaining;
  • Booted the longest field goal in school history with a 51-yard, last-second, game-winning kick in the 2006 CIAA Championship Game;
  • Named to NCAA Division II All-America Second Team as a junior in 2006;
  • Two-time First Team All-CIAA selection (2005, 2006);
  • Two-time NCAA Division II All-Southeast Region First Team honoree (2005, 2006);
  • Inducted into NCCU Athletics Hall of Fame in 2014.

2008 - SENIOR SEASON:
Made 8-of-11 field goals, including a long of 45 yards. Converted all 21 extra-point kicks.

2007 - MEDICAL RED-SHIRT SEASON:
Injury ended season after first two games of the season. Made 2-of-3 field goal attempts and all three extra-point kicks in the two games. Converted two extra points and a field goal versus Fayetteville State (Sept. 2) to become the school's all-time leading scorer.

2006 - JUNIOR SEASON:
Named to the Daktronics, Inc. NCAA Division II All-America Second Team and Don Hansen's Football Gazette All-America Third Team. Repeat selection on the All-CIAA First Team and All-Region First Team. Chosen CIAA Special Teams Player of the Week four times (Aug. 26, Oct. 7, Oct. 14, Nov. 4). Made a game-winning, career-long 51-yard field goal as time expired to provide NCCU with a 17-14 win over Elizabeth City State (Nov. 11) in the CIAA Championship Game. Scored season-best 10 points versus Johnson C. Smith (Nov. 4) with seven extra point kicks and a field goal. Scored nine points with three extra points and two field goals in road wins over Southern University (Sept. 23) and St. Augustine's (Oct. 7). Led the CIAA in scoring with 81 points (48-48 PATs, 11-16 FGs). Set an NCCU single-season record with 48 extra-point kicks. Punted 59 times for 2,068 yards (35.1 avg.), placing 23 attempts inside the 20-yard line with only two touch-backs. Selected to the 2006 Don Hansen's Football Gazette Preseason NCAA Division II All-America Team. Voted to the 2006 Preseason All-CIAA Team.

2005 - SOPHOMORE SEASON:
Named First-Team All-CIAA, First-Team Daktronics Inc. Division II All-Southeast Region, First-Team Don Hansen's Football Gazette All-Southeast Region. Broke single-season school records in field goals made (16) and extra-point kicks made (42), and broke NCCU's single-game record for extra-point kicks made with 10 against Edward Waters (Aug. 27). Posted school's second-best scoring season on record with 90 points. Led the conference in field goals (16), field goal percentage (76.2), PAT percentage (97.7), and scoring by a kicker with 90 points. Ranked sixth in the NCAA Division II with an average of 1.3 field goals per game. Selected as the Most Valuable Player of the CIAA Championship Game after making a career-best four field goals, including a career-long 47-yard bomb and the 30-yard game-winner with three seconds remaining, for a career-high 14 points against Bowie State (Nov. 5). Earned CIAA Special Teams Player of the Week award after making a pair of field goals and converting all four extra-point kicks at Johnson C. Smith (Oct. 29). Accounted for 13 points with three field goals and four PAT kicks versus Shaw (Sept. 17). Made a 46-yard field goal at Winston-Salem State (Oct. 15). Scored in double-figures five times (Aug. 27, Sept. 17, Oct. 22, Oct. 29, Nov. 5). Voted to the 2005 Preseason All-CIAA Team.

2004 - FRESHMAN SEASON:
Voted to the All-CIAA Second Team and CIAA All-Rookie Team after leading the conference in field goal percentage at 63.6 percent (7-of-11) and placing second in the league in field goals made (7), PAT kicking percentage (33-of-34, 97.1 percent), and scoring by kickers (54 points, 5.4 per game). Broke the school's single-season record with 33 extra-point kicks made. Second on the team in scoring with 54 points. Earned CIAA weekly honors four times - twice CIAA Special Teams Player of the Week (Sept. 25 and Oct. 23) and twice CIAA Rookie of the Week (Aug. 28 and Sept. 18). Made three field goals, including a season-long 41-yard kick, against North Carolina A&T (Sept. 5). Scored 10 points in his first college game, making a 25-yard field goal and connecting on all seven extra-point kicks versus Johnson C. Smith (Aug. 28). Kicked a game-winning, 25-yard field goal with 1:48 remaining against Bowie State (Sept. 18).

GRAHAM HIGH SCHOOL:
Three-time all-conference selection. Team won 2000 state championship. Also earned all-conference honors in soccer and baseball.

Born December 4, 1985, in South Carolina to Anne and Joe Gilbert. Physical Education major at NCCU.
