- NCCU junior quarterback Adrian Warren found junior transfer receiver Torey Ross for a 19-yard touchdown connection with 11 seconds left in the game to give the visiting Eagles a 26-23 win over NCAA Division I-AA foe Delaware State University at Alumni Stadium in Dover, DE. (Sept. 11, 2004)
- NCCU head volleyball coach Ingrid Wicker-McCree captured her 200th victory at NCCU on Tuesday as the Lady Eagles blanked Livingstone College, 3-0 (30-20, 30-20, 30-16), at the LeRoy T. Walker Complex in Durham, NC. (Sept. 28, 2004)
- NCCU senior running back Donnie Pippen scored on a two-yard rush with no time remaining to lead the Eagles to a 35-33 victory over Winston-Salem State University Saturday night at O'Kelly-Riddick Stadium in Durham, NC. (Oct. 16, 2004)
- NCCU freshman Yolanda Barber claimed the women's individual conference title by finishing the 5k course in 19:43.40. Barber's championship performance followed by a fourth place effort by Aisha Brown powered the Lady Eagles to a third place team finish. (Oct. 21, 2004)
- The NCCU men's cross country team etched its name in the history books Thursday by capturing the school's first conference championship in cross country, defeating seven-time defending champions Saint Augustine's College by the narrowest margin in league history, 35-36, at the 2004 CIAA Men's and Women's Cross Country Championships at SAS Soccer Park in Cary, NC. - NCCU held off a late rally by Virginia Union University to win the 2004 CIAA Women's Volleyball Championship, the first since 1999 and the second in school history. The Lady Eagles were topped by Championship M.V.P. Danielle Johnson-Webb with 27 kills. (Nov. 7, 2004)
- NCCU junior center Jason Hervey and senior forward Jonathan Moore sparked the Eagles to a 79-77 upset win over the fourth-ranked team in the nation, Bowie State University, in Bowie, MD. (Jan. 10, 2005)
- NCCU senior forward Jonathan Moore sank a pair of free throws with 14 seconds left to provide the Eagles with a 66-65 upset victory over nationally-ranked Virginia Union University on Saturday night inside McLendon-McDougald Gym in Durham, NC. (Feb. 19, 2005)
- NCCU sophomore Asha Sutton drove in the game-tying and game-winning runs with an extra-inning triple to lift the Lady Eagles to a 4-3 win over Lock Haven University in game one of a doubleheader split on Sunday at Hillside High School in Durham, NC. (Feb. 27, 2005)
- NCCU's sophomore forward Cassie King scored 12 of the Lady Eagles 13 overtime points on her way to a CIAA Tournament record 59 points as NCCU defeated Bowie State 84-79 in overtime in the quarterfinals of the 2005 CIAA Tournament at RBC Center. (Mar. 1, 2005)
- NCCU sophomore Dorian Turner captured All-America honors in the men's 200-meter dash on the final day of the 2005 NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston. (March 12, 2005)
- NCCU sophomore Cassie King has been recognized as a 2005 NCAA Division II Kodak/WBCA All-America Basketball Team Honorable Mention, the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) announced Tuesday. (March 22, 2005)
- NCCU sophomore designated hitter Natasha Bailey hit for the cycle in game two of a doubleheader sweep against Saint Augustine's College (15-4, 23-4) in Raleigh, NC, as the Lady Eagles exploded for 38 runs on 41 hits on the afternoon. (April 5, 2005)
- NCCU senior Detric Branch won the men's 200-meter dash on the final day of the 2005 Duke Invitational at Wallace Wade Stadium (April 9, 2005)
- NCCU swept a doubleheader from Winston-Salem State University (14-1, 11-0) on Saturday in Winston-Salem, NC, as the Lady Eagles clinched the CIAA Western Division regular-season title for the first time since 1998. (April 16, 2005)
- NCCU sophomore pitcher Clarisse Steans tossed a no-hitter in game two as the Lady Eagles closed the regular season with a doubleheader sweep of Livingstone College (22-1, 13-0) on Sunday in Salisbury, NC. (April 17, 2005)
- NCCU sophomore pitcher Clarisse Steans was announced as the 2005 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association Softball Player of the Year during a conference awards event in Petersburg, Virginia, host of the CIAA Spring Sports Championships. (April 21, 2005)
- Brian Demby of NCCU captured low medalist honors with a CIAA-record score of 135 over the two-day event. Demby shot a four-under-par 67 on day 1, and then followed with a three-under-par 68 on day 2. NCCU's Pete Hayes repeated as CIAA Coach of the Year. (April 22, 2005)
- Two Eagles finished in the top 10 as NCCU settled for a fifth place team finish at the 19th National Minority College Golf Championship at the PGA Golf Club (North Course) in Port St. Lucie, Florida. (May 8, 2005)
- Four NCCU student-athletes are among the 20 individuals from the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association that have been named to the eighth annual CIAA Commissioner's All-Academic Team, the conference office announced Friday (May 13, 2005).
- NCCU head softball coach Larry Keen was voted as the 2005 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association Coach of the Year by the CIAA Softball Coaches Association, the conference office announced on Monday (May 16, 2005).
- NCCU sophomores Clarisse Steans and Asha Sutton have been named to the 2005 North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information Association (NCCSIA) College Division All-State Softball Team.
- NCCU sophomore student-athlete Hakeem Mohammed (Winston-Salem, NC) and Assistant Athletics Director George Smith have been selected to participate in the 2005 NCAA Leadership Conference, May 29-June 2 at Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex and Coronado Springs Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Florida.
- Three NCCU relay teams posted season-best times en route to All-America honors at the 2005 NCAA Division II Men's and Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Abilene, Texas.
