DURHAM, N.C. – The North Carolina Central men's golf team heads to Greenville, N.C., this week for the Ironwood Collegiate Classic at Ironwood Golf & Country Club.

The 54-hole tournament begins Monday with a first-round tee time of 9 a.m. The second round is scheduled for 2 p.m. while Tuesday's third-round tee time has yet to be determined.

The Eagles are part of a 16-team field which includes Barton, Gardner-Webb, Charleston Southern, North Carolina A&T, Old Dominion, Longwood, Presbyterian, High Point, North Carolina, Temple, Queens (N.C.), North Carolina State, Georgetown, Coppin State and host East Carolina.

The Eagles' five-player lineup features Jamal Hutchison, Iszac Bertagnole, Nico Tucker, Christian Fisher and Mateo Zolezzi.

Hutchison is coming off a successful showing last week, finishing as co-medalist at the Thomas W. Dortch Jr. HBCU Collegiate Classic in Suwanee, Ga. He fired a three-under-par 69 to tie for first at the Dortch Classic, which was shortened to one round after the second day was canceled due to inclement weather.

Zolezzi makes his season debut after recovering from injury sustained during the 2026 spring season. He last competed at the Surf Club Invitational in March after tying for first at the Arcis HBCU Division I Championship Tournament.

The Eagles are competing in the Ironwood Collegiate Classic for the second time since becoming a Division I program. NCCU's last appearance was 2022 when Head Coach Kendall Wallace was a member of the Eagles' golf team.
