DURHAM, N.C. – North Carolina Central will run in the adidas Cross Country Challenge on Friday, Sept. 18, at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, N.C. The men's 6K race begins at 5:50 p.m. followed by the women's 5K race at 6:30 p.m. Admission and parking is free.
The Eagles will compete against host North Carolina State, Bob Jones, Campbell, Davidson, East Carolina, High Point, Liberty, Longwood, Richmond, Shaw, South Carolina State, South Carolina (women), UNC Greensboro, UNC Pembroke, Virginia State and Wake Forest (men).

ABOUT NCCU
- Aaron Alukunyang is off to a sizzling start for the Eagles' men's team, winning the first two races of the season. Last Friday at the Queen City Invite, Alukunyang won the men's 8K race in 24:08, finishing 37 seconds ahead of the runner-up. He also captured the men's 6K race in 18:57.6, becoming the only runner in the field to finish under 19 minutes.
- Sharon Magut, Cynthia Koech and Navi McDowell are expected to lead the Eagles' women's team. Last week at the Queen City Invite, Magut paced the Eagles with a time of 21:25.3 in the women's 5K while Koech posted a personal-best time of 22.12.9. McDowell finished in 23.10.0.

Ryan Chong finished among the top 50 runners in the men's 6K race.
