FUQUAY-VARINA, N.C. – North Carolina Central University freshman running back Gino Addison has been named the BOXTOROW HBCU National Co-Player of the Week. Addison shares the honor with Howard University defensive back Ben Chandler IV.

Addison recorded the second 200-yard rushing performance by an NCCU running back this season, carrying the ball 31 times for a career-high 214 yards and two touchdowns in the Eagles' 31-12 victory over Delaware State on Friday night at Alumni Stadium in Dover, Delaware.

The Starke, Florida, native scored on runs of six and 16 yards as part of 31 unanswered points by the Eagles. His six-yard touchdown capped a 16-play, 75-yard drive that consumed more than eight minutes in the third quarter. Addison added his second score early in the fourth quarter to extend NCCU's lead to 24-6.

His performance helped NCCU rush for 272 yards and finish with 427 yards of total offense as the Eagles opened Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference play with a victory.

The 214-yard performance was the second-highest single-game rushing total by an Eagle this season, trailing only Plez Lawrence's 210-yard effort against North Carolina A&T. Addison has now rushed for more than 100 yards in consecutive games after recording 169 yards against William & Mary on Oct. 10.
