Monday's 88-52 road loss to Norfolk State snapped the Eagles' four-game win streak. They enter Saturday's game tied with Maryland Eastern Shore for fourth in the MEAC standings with eight games remaining in the regular season.

The Eagles need a win to stay in the upper half of the standings. However, they venture to Burr Gymnasium where their record is 1-9 in the last 10 games there.

But the Eagles have had success recently against the Bison under Head Coach Terrence Baxter. NCCU has captured 3 of the last 4 meetings against Howard (11-9 overall, 4-1 MEAC) with its only loss coming in the MEAC Tournament semifinals a year ago.

One person to watch for the Eagles is graduate forward Morgan Callahan. On Monday, she surpassed the 600-career rebound mark against Norfolk State. The 6-0 forward is 57 points away from reaching the 1,000-career point milestone.

Callahan and sophomore guard Kyla Bryant carry the load for the Eagles. They are the team's top scorers and are among the Division I leaders in minutes played.

Bryant is the conference's second leading scorer (18.8 ppg) and assists leader (5.7) in MEAC games. Overall, she averages 14.1 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.6 assists.

Callahan is scoring at 15.3 points a clip in addition pulling down 8.8 rebounds and blocking 1.3 shots per game in MEAC games. The Eagles rank second in blocks in MEAC contests due to Callahan and sophomore guard-forward Jada Tiggett, who is the league's blocks leader (3.2) in MEAC games.

The Eagles will play a Howard squad whose only conference loss was to league leader Norfolk State. The Bison is led offensively by the guard tandem of Saniyah King and Destiny Howell. King averages 14.2 points and Howell averages 13.8 points in MEAC games.

Howard has a shot blocker of its own in forward Nile Miller, who is second behind Tiggett in blocks (2.2 bpg) in league games. Miller also averages 7.0 rebounds and 1.8 steals in conference matchups.

Howard is tough but the Eagles are determined to win on the road with two home games on the horizon.
