DURHAM, N.C. – North Carolina Central University offensive lineman Trevon Humphrey and defensive back Jelani Vassell have been named to the BOXTOROW HBCU All-America Team for the 2025 season.
Humphrey was a First Team All-MEAC selection this past season after anchoring the Eagles' offensive line. He led a line that helped NCCU (8-4, 3-2 MEAC) lead the MEAC in scoring offense (33.8 ppg) and rank second in total offense (449.5 ypg).
The Eagles eclipsed 450 total yards in five games this season, and Humphrey was key in protecting MEAC Offensive Player of the Year Walker Harris.
Vassell led the MEAC with a team-high five interceptions, including two in the season finale at Morgan State. A First Team All-MEAC selection, he was also third on the team in tackles with 57 on the season, including 2.5 for loss.
Tight end Luke Bracey, defensive lineman Thomas Johnson and punter Brandon Bowman were among those named Honorable Mention.
