Finger Scores 17 Points In Oklahoma Loss

NORMAN, Okla. – Aniya Finger scored 17 points for North Carolina Central in a 126-54 women's basketball loss to No. 8 Oklahoma at the Lloyd Noble Center on Monday.

Finger added five rebounds, four steals and one block, all team highs, after missing the previous two games due to illness. The NCCU forward was two points off her season-high of 19 against UNC Wilmington on Nov. 7. She scored in double figures for the fifth time in 10 games this season.

Finger, who scored 15 first-half points on 6 of 11 shooting, was the only double-figure scorer for the Eagles (2-10 overall). Amaya Harris scored six points and Morgan Callahan tied Finger with four steals as they combined for eight of the Eagles' 13 steals.

The Eagles, who fell behind 27-7 in the first quarter, shot 23.4 percent while Oklahoma (12-1 overall) shot 54.5 percent including 14 of 30 from three-point range for 46.7 percent. The Sooners' point total was the most by an NCCU opponent this season.

Oklahoma, which won its 11th straight game, was the third nationally ranked opponent the Eagles faced this season.
