NORFOLK, Va. – Alitza Dennard of North Carolina Central was selected MEAC Women's Runner of the Week on Wednesday, Oct. 15. She is one of two MEAC runners to win the award twice this season.
Dennard was impressive at the Royals Challenge last week, running a time of 18:35.5 which is the fastest in the MEAC this season. She finished 45
th out of 164 runners in the women's 5K gold meet in Charlotte, N.C.
A Lawrenceville, Ga., native, Dennard and her NCCU teammates will challenge for the women's 5K title at the MEAC Championships in Cary, N.C., on Nov. 1.
