CARY, N.C. – The North Carolina Central University men's tennis team won its second conference match at the MEAC Round-up defeating Morgan State University 4-3. Redshirt freshman Lucas Artigas' singles victory clinched the match for the Eagles.

NCCU (5-10, 2-0 MEAC) started the match dropping the doubles point to the Bears. The Eagles moved forward and took care of business in singles competition.

The Bears would gain a one-point advantage again as sophomore Kareem Abdul Hakim fell 6-3, 6-4 in No.2 Singles.

Another tie came after junior Hugo Hidalgo Vega won a close No.1 Singles match 7-6, 7-5. Junior and team captain Oliver Saarinen gave the Eagles another lead in a 7-5, 6-3 triumph in No.5 Singles.

With the score at 3-2, Artigas would clinch the winning point for NCCU. Artigas won 7-6, 6-4 in No.6 Singles and let out a thunderous roar as he knew that his match helped secure the victory for the Eagles.

Junior Naresh Bharathy's match went to three sets as a win would help give NC Central a larger victory, but Bharathy fell 3-6, 6-2, 4-6 to close out the second conference match of the season.
