Paddyfote Crosses Finish Line at the NCAA XC Southeast Regional for Consecutive Seasons

ROCK HILL, S.C. – On Friday afternoon, junior Emmanuel Paddyfote of the North Carolina Central University men's cross country team completed the NCAA Cross Country Southeast Regional Championship men's 10K race at the Winthrop Farm. Paddyfote was one of two Eagles to finish in last year's regional for the first time in program history.

With 235 finishers in the field, Paddyfote crossed the line in 166th place at 33:42.5. He shaved off time and moved up the standings from last season's appearance of 34:06.6 finishing 201st out of 288.

Paddyfote was able to race about an hour's drive from his hometown of Belmont, N.C. near the Charlotte metro area. He's improved his time in every distance this year ending his cross country season with new personal records in the 5K, 6K, 8K and 10K.

The top three finishers in the men's regional were the University of Virginia (79 points), the University of North Carolina (85 points) and Eastern Kentucky University (105 points). George Couttie of Virginia Tech University was the individual medalist with a time of 29:41.7.

Paddyfote now switches gears to the indoor track & field season as both the men's and women's teams have begun preparation. The schedule for both squads will be released soon.
