DURHAM, N.C. – Seven different Eagles scored in double digits as the North Carolina Central University women's basketball team coasted to a 110-42 victory over North Carolina Wesleyan College on Tuesday evening inside McDougald-McLendon Arena.
The Eagles scored 110 points for the second time this season and NCCU received spotlight performances throughout its lineup. NC Central (7-10 overall) improved to 5-1 at home, including finishing off non-conference play with a 4-0 record against non-MEAC schools inside McDougald-McLendon Arena.
Junior forward
Morgan Callahan recorded team-high totals of 18 points and 12 rebounds while handing out a career-high eight assists to flirt with a rare triple-double. Callahan, the reigning MEAC Defensive Player of the Week, settled for her third consecutive double-double and fifth of the season.

Kimia Carter and junior forward
Sydney Avoletta netting 17 and 16 points, respectively. Carter came off the bench to hit a team-high four 3-pointers on the way to her best scoring output at NCCU. Avoletta pulled down a career-high 10 rebounds for her first collegiate double-double while accounting for a team-high four blocks as the Eagles finished the game with a season-high nine rejections.
Freshman guard
Kyla Bryant matched Carter with 17 points, running her streak of double-digit scoring games to 11 consecutive games in her rookie campaign. Classmate
Jada Tiggett added 12 points while juniors
Janiah Jones and
Aniya Finger each swished 11 points.
NCCU had nine active players and only senior
Tippy Robertson and junior
Ray'ven Robinson did not reach double digits in the scoring column. However, they were the catalysts to NCCU's 68-point victory by dishing out a combined 16 assists. The Eagles finished the game distributing assists on 34 of their 46 made field goals with Robertson handing out a career-high nine dimes and Robinson matching her season-best mark of seven helpers.
Callahan, Jones and Robinson all had three steals as NCCU scored 38 transition points.
The Eagles shot 52.9 percent from the field as they never trailed in the coast-to-coast victory. NCCU dominated the backboards with a 65-41 rebounding advantage with the 65 rebounds being a new season-high total. NCCU committed just 12 fouls, which is the second fewest whistled infractions by the Eagles this season.
Senior Nadia Simmons led the Battling Bishops with 14 points, but NC Wesleyan (7-8) had its three-game win streak come to an end.
NC Central will next return to Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) play with a road game at South Carolina State University in Orangeburg, South Carolina, on Saturday, Jan. 20 at 2 p.m.
