Adrian Olivo, received weekly football awards for their performances during a 45-3 victory over Mississippi Valley State University in the Circle City Classic, the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference announced on Monday.
Harris was named the MEAC Offensive Player of the Week, Simpkins was declared MEAC Offensive Lineman of the Week, and Olivo was honored as the MEAC Specialist of the Week.
Harris (6-1, 195, Jr., Rolesville, N.C.) passed for 263 yards and five touchdowns, the most by a NCCU quarterback in 18 years, in a 45-3 victory over Mississippi Valley State in the Circle City Classic. Harris completed 17 of 28 passes and rushed for 32 yards, averaging 8.0 yards per carry.
Simpkins (6-5, 320, Jr., Charlotte, N.C.) amassed an astounding 12 pancake blocks with a team-best blocking grade of 93 percent as NCCU rolled up 416 yards of total offense and 45 points to beat Mississippi Valley State.
Olivo (5-10, 195, Sr., Plant City, Fla.) accounted for nine points, with a career-long 47-yard field goal and six extra-point kicks against Mississippi Valley State.
No. 13 NCCU (3-1) returns to O'Kelly-Riddick Stadium to host Campbell University on Sept. 30 at 4 p.m.
