ATHENS, Ga. – North Carolina Central University's historic MEAC championship season came to an end in the NCAA Division I Softball Regional Championship on Saturday with the Eagles suffering an 8-0 setback to Boston University at Jack Turner Stadium in Athens, Georgia.
Shortstop
Makiya Graves topped NCCU's offense by hitting 2-for-3 at the plate, while
Jaden Davis and
Maegan Garrison both reached safely with walks.
Davis held the Terriers scoreless for the first three innings before surrendering a run in the bottom of the fourth inning. Boston University plated four runs in the fifth frame, and ended the contest with three runs in the sixth.
NCCU (19-35) earned the league's automatic bid into the NCAA Regional Championship after winning the program's first MEAC softball championship.
