CARY, N.C. – The North Carolina Central University men's tennis team defeated Coppin State 4-0 in the quarterfinal round of the 2023 MEAC Tennis Championship inside Cary Tennis Park on Thursday afternoon.

All-MEAC Second Team selection Sebastian Pino beat Vansh Kapoor 6-2, 6-1, while fellow All-MEAC Second Team member Kareem Abdul Hakim won his bout with Rishi Jalota 6-3, 6-2.

Sophomore Oliver Saarinen and freshman Naresh Bharathy's singles competitions against Anas Haddou and Ulugbe Abdurakhmonov went unfinished.

Up next, No. 3 NCCU (7-15) will battle No. 2 Morgan State University in the semifinal round of the 2023 MEAC Tennis Championship on Friday, April 28 at noon. The action will be streamed via ESPN+.
