The Eagles opened their season with a tough 113-39 road loss at University of Washington on Thursday, playing just eight players in that contest. NC Central (0-1) is under the leadership of first-year head coach
Terrence Baxter.
Senior
Kimeira Burks, who led the maroon and gray in scoring last season, topped NCCU's scorers with 10 points against the Huskies last week. She hit two 3-pointers in that contest. Junior
Morgan Callahan paced the Eagles with six rebounds in that contest. Burks and Callahan were both Preseason All-MEAC Team selections.
NCCU will be playing Wofford for the first time since the 2018-19 season. The Eagles won the last meeting by a score of 66-59.
WOFFORD BENCH
The Terriers have won their last two games, including a 74-49 triumph over UNC Wilmington in their last game on Saturday. Wofford (2-1) is 2-0 at home.
After three games this season, the Terriers had a pair of 19-point per game scorers in freshman Maddie Heiss (19.3) and junior Rachael Rose (19.0). Heiss is averaging over a trio of made treys per contest while Rose leads Wofford with 5.33 assists per game. Freshman Evangelia Paulk is chipping in 9.0 points per game along with team-best averages of 9.7 rebounds and 1.7 blocks per game.
