ORLANDO, Fla. – North Carolina Central University earned the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Academic Performance Rate Recognition Award for achieving the MEAC's highest APR, the conference announced on Friday.
In addition to the award, the NCCU Department of Athletics received a check for $10,000. The financial award will be used to enhance the academic support services unit "to continue providing robust services for our student-athletes to sustain our overall grade point average above a 3.0," according to NCCU Director of Athletics
Dr. Louis "Skip" Perkins.
The award was presented to Perkins and
Kendra Greene, Senior Associate A.D. for Internal Operations and Senior Woman Administrator, during the MEAC All-Sports Award Dinner hosted at the Walt Disney World Resort, in association with Disney on the Yard, held in conjunction with the conference's annual spring meetings.
