JACKSON, Miss. – Seniors
Miles Clark and
Sebastian Pino tallied singles victories for the North Carolina Central University men's tennis team in a 5-2 non-conference road loss at Jackson State University on Wednesday.
Clark tallied his team-leading third win of the season atop NCCU's lineup. Clark knocked off senior Francisco Vargas in two close sets: 6-4, 7-5.
Pino was winning his match 6-2, 3-2 on court two when his opponent retired for his second win of the season.
The Tigers won the other four singles matches in straight sets and won both completed doubles matches.
Agustin Agosto and Richy Gamo are both All-SWAC honorees last season and they each won in singles and doubles as Jackson State improved to 4-5 on the season.
NC Central (2-9) will conclude its spring break road trip with a match at Tennessee State University on Thursday at noon EST (11 a.m. CST).
