CARY, N.C. – North Carolina Central University men's and women's cross country teams were highlighted by freshman
Victoria Swepson and senior
Ashton Drake during the annual Adidas XC Challenge at WakeMed Soccer Park on Friday evening.
Swepson crushed her personal-best time of 20:28.39 in the women's 5k by finishing the course in 19:37.7 to finish 49
th out of 72 competitors.
For the men, Drake set a personal-best mark in the 6k event with a time of 20:13.1 to place 62nd. Shortly after him, reigning MEAC runner of the week, senior
Juan Rodriguez, finished in 65
th place in 20:31.5.
NCCU returns to action at the Greensboro XC Invitational in Greensboro, N.C., on Sept 25.
