BUIES CREEK, N.C. — The North Carolina Central University softball team was held to just one run in a 9-0 and 5-1 non-conference doubleheader loss at Campbell University on Sunday afternoon.
The Camels extended their win streak to 10 games with the two victories. Campbell improved to 17-10 on the season.
NC Central (5-23) will next play all five Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Northern Division teams in a round-up over the weekend of Friday-Sunday, April 16-18, in Orangeburg, South Carolina.
GAME ONE: Campbell 9, NC Central 0
The Camels scored multiple run in each of its first three innings and senior pitcher Megan Richards limited NCCU to just two hits in the run-rule victory. Richards (6-3) recorded three strikeouts in her five-inning shutout.
Freshman Delaney McDilda had the big bat for Campbell, driving in four runs on two hits. Her big outing included a two-run single in the first and a two-run triple in the third.

Hailey Batista had NCCU's hits, both singles.
GAME TWO: Campbell 5, NC Central 1
Harrell drove in sophomore
Diamond Porter with a two-out single in the fourth to produce NCCU's tally, but the Camels scored in four different innings to complete the sweep. Harrell had two hits for the Eagles.
Senior Destini England registered three hits for the victors. England's performance included a triple.
Both teams finished with eight hits.

Tamiera Sanchez both doubled for the Eagles, accounting for NCCU's two extra base hits on the day.
