Amit Baran won their fifth consecutive doubles match together to highlight play for the North Carolina Central University men's tennis team in a 7-0 neutral-site loss to George Mason University Thursday morning at the Hilton Head Spring TennisFest.
Clark and Baran won the middle doubles match with a convincing 6-1 score. The Eagle duo boasts a 7-5 record this season.
The Patriots swept singles to end NCCU's four-match win streak. George Mason leveled its record on the season to 5-5 while the Eagles slipped to 4-8.
A couple of Eagles played in a pair of close three-set affairs.
Baran was edged in a super-tiebreaker, falling to senior No. 2 Jakob Nielson by a score of 6-3, 2-6, 12-10.
Senior
Pablo Juez Torres won his first set on court five, but freshman Faisal Alrebdi was able to rally for the 6-7 (5), 6-0, 10-5 triumph.
NC Central is next scheduled to host Coppin State University on Saturday at 4 p.m.
