DURHAM, N.C. — The North Carolina Central University women's basketball returns to the court for the first time in 10 days after completing final exams and will host UNCG inside McDougald-McLendon Arena on Wednesday at 2 p.m.
The non-conference game will be broadcast for free on the NCCU Sports Network with

NCCU (0-7) last played on Saturday, Dec. 1 and lost 89-66 to Coastal Carolina University after committing a season-most 34 turnovers. Junior forward
Paulina Afriyie, who leads the Eagles and ranks in top-10 of the MEAC in both scoring and rebounding, led the maroon and gray with 20 points. Afriyie is averaging 12.9 points and 7.7 rebounds per game. Freshman forward
Kiyana Brown follows Afriyie with an average of 6.9 rebounds per game. Brown also had seven blocks against the Chanticleers, increasing her average to 2.6 blocks per contest, which is good for second in the MEAC. Kieche White has yet to play this season due to injury.
UNCG (4-4) has a .500 record, but all of its wins are against NCAA Division II competition. However, the Spartans have been close in all four of their games against fellow DI opposition, losing all four of those contests by seven or less points. Junior guard Nadine Soliman, the SoCon Freshman of the Year in 2017 and two-time All-SoCon selection, is leading UNCG with 20.9 points and 2.5 steals per game while also providing 7.6 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game. Junior forward Te'ja Twitty is shooting making 62.5-percent of her shots on the way to an average of 17.0 points per game. Twitty also leads the Spartans with 9.2 rebounds per game.
Soliman scored a game-high 19 points and Twitty provided 12 points and seven rebounds in leading UNCG to a 64-51 victory over NCCU the last time the two programs met two seasons ago.
