DURHAM, N.C. – Freshman guard
Dominique Adams bucketed a team-high 13 points for North Carolina Central University but visiting North Carolina A&T State University had three double-digit scorers to earn a 76-54 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) women's basketball victory inside McDougald-McLendon Arena Saturday afternoon.
Senior center Aprill McRae produced game-high totals of 21 points and eight rebounds to lead the Aggies to the road win. N.C. A&T (11-10 Overall, 7-3 MEAC) shot 46-percent to earn its 12th straight win over the Lady Eagles.
Adams made half of her shots (5 of 10) to finish one point shy of her season high total. Adams also added three rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block from a reserve role.
The Aggies, who entered the season as the preseason favorites to win the MEAC, topped NCCU in most statistical categories; including holding a rebounding advantage (40-35), committing fewer turnovers (22-15) and scoring more in the paint (32-20) and off turnovers (23-12).
Senior

Morgan Jones both tallied nine points and five rebounds for the Maroon and Gray. Sophomore
Kierona Morton chipped in six points and a team-high seven rebounds.
The visitors led from the onset, but NCCU did keep the score close throughout the first quarter. N.C. A&T netted the first four points for the wire-to-wire win. The Lady Eagles then pulled within one possession on three occasions in the opening stanza and a pair of free throw by junior
Monique Whaley-Briggs pulled NCCU to within four, 18-14, after 10 minutes of play.
Dixon made a quick layup just 10 seconds into the second quarter to close the gap to two points. However, NCCU did not make another field goal until a Dixon putback at the 3:04 mark. The Aggies went on a 9-2 run during that 6:46 stretch to increase their lead to 27-18. A 3-pointer by Dana Brown in the final minute then gave North Carolina A&T a 10-point edge at halftime, 34-24.
The Aggies maintained a double digit cushion throughout the second half after outscoring the Lady Eagles by a 26-12 margin in the third quarter. NCAT shot 66.7-percent (16 of 24) in the middle two quarters while holding NCCU to just 26.7% (8 of 30) to construct a sizable 60-36 lead heading into the fourth quarter before settling for the 22-point triumph.
Brown hit four 3-pointers for the Aggies on her way to 17 points. Sophomore Kala Green followed with 11 points and five assists.
