DURHAM, N.C. – The North Carolina Central University women's basketball team returns home with hopes that the newly renovated McDougald-McLendon Arena will provide the Lady Eagles with another win when NCCU hosts Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) foe Norfolk State University Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m.

LIVE STATS SERIES: NSU leads the all-time series 17-7, but NCCU is 4-2 against the Spartans since joining the NCAA Division I ranks in 2007-08. The Spartans did win the last meeting 82-58 in Norfolk, Virginia, on Jan. 17, 2015 The Lady Eagles are 2-0 against Norfolk State at home at the DI level.
NCCU (2-12, 1-3) remained winless on the road with MEAC losses at South Carolina State and Savannah State last week. However, the Lady Eagles are 2-2 at home. Junior
Morgan Jones, who is averaging 13.8 points per game in four league contests, paces NCCU with 10.5 points, 2.5 assists, 1.8 steals and 1.6 made 3-pointers per game. Senior
Tisha Dixon follows Jones closely with 10.4 points per game and leads the Lady Eagles with 7.4 rebounds per game. Senior
Kristin Askew continues her strong play with five consecutive double-digit scoring games and averages 7.2 points per game. Junior
Tyshay Britten is coming off a 9-rebound, 5-block performance. Britten's five blocks at Savannah State matched NCCU's NCAA Division I era individual single-game block record.
NSU (0-14, 0-4) is still searching for its first win of the season after losing the league's second leading scorer from last season (Rae Corbo). The Spartans' four league losses are against four of the six teams in the MEAC that currently have winning conference records (Morgan State, Coppin State, Florida A&M, Bethune-Cookman). NSU's top two players are both flirting with averaging a double-double on the season. Senior Siobhan Beslow, who leads the MEAC in rebounding, tops the Spartans with 11.2 points and 9.4 rebounds per game. Sophomore Kayla Roberts, the reigning MEAC Rookie of the Year, adds 10.3 points and 8.4 rebounds per contest.
