APEX, N.C. – North Carolina Central University dropped a pair of games to officially open the 2015 season on Friday at Middle Creek Park, as the Lady Eagles fell to Delaware State (16-8) and Nebraska Omaha (7-1) on day one of the Eagle Challenge.
Senior catcher
Emerie Germ led the NCCU offense by going 3-for-5 at the plate with a run scored and a walk on Friday. Junior
De'Onna Smith went 2-for-4 at the dish with a double, a run scored and two walks, while junior
Casey Hargett also had two hits with two runs batted in, including a solo home run versus Delaware State.
Against Nebraska Omaha, NCCU pitcher
Dominique Wilson scattered five hits and struck out five batters in four innings.
NCCU (0-2) returns to action on Saturday (Feb. 14) at 1 p.m. against Virginia (3-4), followed by a rematch with Delaware State at 3:15 p.m. Both games will be played at Middle Creek Park. Admission is free.
