NCCU (1-9) lost its fourth consecutive game before the holiday break, falling to Presbyterian College on Dec. 21 as the Lady Eagles slipped to 0-7 on the road this season. Senior Kristin Askew scored a career-high 20 points, including five 3-pointers against the Blue Hose. Classmate Tisha Dixon continues to lead NCCU with 10.3 points per game despite being held to single-digit scoring in the team's last three games. Dixon also paces the Lady Eagles with 7.4 rebounds per game. Junior Morgan Jones, who is second on the team with 9.7 points per game and leads NCCU with 2.9 assists per game, has missed NCCU's last three games due to injury. The young Maroon and Gray squad has 10 players averaging 10-plus minutes per game.

UNCG (7-7) has won its last two games, including defeating MEAC member Maryland Eastern Shore (71-51) on Monday, and is 5-2 at home. The Spartans have already surpassed their win total from last year (6).  Senior guard Lucy Mason is the No. 3 top scorer in NCAA Division I with her 24.4 points per game. The UNCG all-time leading scorer has a knack for drawing fouls as nearly 30-percent of her points have come from 98 made free throws (leads DI). Mason also averages 5.4 rebounds and leads the Spartans with 2.6 assists and 2.5 steals per game. UNCG maintains a +2.4 rebounding advantage on the season with junior India Timpton topping the team with 7.8 rebounds per game.
