DURHAM, N.C. – The North Carolina Central University women's basketball team returns to South Carolina for its second straight game in Spartanburg when the Lady Eagles play University of South Carolina Upstate on ESPN3 Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m.
Fans who cannot attend the game at G.B. Hodge Center, can follow the game online. The Lady Eagles can be watched on ESPN3 for the first time this season (WatchESPN App). The non-conference tilt may also be listened to on the NCCU Sports Network with Mike Wood on the air with the play-by-play or via live stats provided by USC Upstate.

LIVE STATS NCCU (1-7) remained winless on the road at 0-5 with a 60-37 setback at Wofford on Tuesday. The Lady Eagles were held to a season-low shooting percentage (22.2%), while committing 25 turnovers. Junior
Morgan Jones, who leads NCCU in assists (2.9) and is second on the team in points (9.7) and steals (1.9), missed her first collegiate game against Wofford due to injury. Senior
Tisha Dixon is averaging 11.3 points, 7.8 rebounds and 2.1 steals per game, all of which lead the Lady Eagles. NCCU is outrebounding its opponents on the season by an average of over two boards per game. Freshman

Kierona Morton (4.4) help Dixon on the glass. NCCU will be playing USC Upstate for the first time in the program's DI era.
USC UPSTATE (6-6) dipped back to .500 after being doubled up, 80-40, at UNC Chapel Hill on Wednesday. The Spartans lost their only game against a common opponent so far this season to Maryland Eastern Shore. Upstate lost to UMES by 19 while NCCU's three-point win over the Hawks is the squads only win. The Spartans, who are 3-1 at home, are averaging 70.3 points per game (NCCU has only allowed 70-plus points in one game). Senior center Brittany Starling is averaging a double-double, with team-best averages of 17.0 points and 12.8 rebounds per game. Upstate has started the same five players all 12 games with its other four starters all averaging 7-10 points.
