DURHAM, N.C. - The North Carolina Central University women's basketball program dropped its seventh-straight contest heading into the winter break as the Lady Eagles were unable to keep up with Presbyterian's three-point shooting, falling 45-33 on Saturday, Dec. 20 in McDougald-McLendon Gymnasium.
The Blue Hose shot 7-for-17 from behind the arc (41.2%) while NCCU was only able to buy one long-range basket, shooting 1-for-13 (7.7%).
The Lady Eagles largest lead of the contest came at the 5:06 mark in the first half when redshirt junior
Kristin Askew (Arlington, Texas) collected her own offensive board and the put back pushed NCCU on top 11-9.
At the intermission PC led the Lady Eagles 21-13.
NCCU was outscored 24-20 during the second half as the Blue Hose took home the 45-33 victory.
Askew scored a season-best seven points for the Lady Eagles while
Khyra Conerly led NCCU with eight.
Presbyterian was led by rookie Janie Miles' 21 points who shot 8-for-11 from the field and 5-for-7 from behind the arc.
After the winter break, the Lady Eagles remain at home, hosting Bluefield State College on Jan. 3 at 2 p.m.
