University Park, Pa. (www.NCCUEaglePride.com) – North Carolina Central University track and field jumper
Willie Calvin earns a second place finish during the men’s high jump at the historic Penn Relays in University Park, Pa. during day two of competition.
The junior transfer out of Greenville, Miss., competed in the men’s high jump college division earning the silver with a jump of 2.08 meters (6 feet, 9.75 inches).
Orolando Duffus also performed well during the weekend long competition. Duffus took home ninth place during the men’s triple jump in the college division, jumping 14.35m (41ft, 1inch), and also earned a 12th place finish during the men’s long jump, eastern division, with a 6.77m (22 feet, 2.5 inch) leap.
Junior Nana Atakora-Bediako also had a note worthy performance during the men’s college triple jump, finishing in 15th overall with a 14.10m (46 feet, 3.25 inch) jump.
Rounding out the men’s side, senior Nealie Whitt earned a 13th place finish during the men’s college discus throw with a 48.78m (160 feet) toss.
On the women’s side, the sophomore duo of Sararesa Hudson and Delesha Conquest competed in the women’s 400 meter hurdles, championship division. Hudson finished with a 22nd place finish, crossing the finish line in 61.64 seconds, while Conquest finished in 62.33, placing her 35th overall.
