LANDOVER, Md. - After a successful day two at the Indoor Track and Field Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Championships with North Carolina Central University’s
Willie Calvin bringing home the gold in men’s high jump (2.16 meters, 7 feet 1 inch), the Eagles brought home two more top-three victories during the third and final day of competition at the championships in Landover, Md.
Junior
Ashley McCoy finished in second place during the women’s 200 meter dash on Saturday with a final race time of 24.56 seconds. Fellow Lady Eagle freshmen
Anthonia Ballard also received a silver metal during the women’s 60m hurdles with a time of 8.65.
The Lady Eagles had four other top-ten performances during the final day of events.
Jasmine Wanamaker in six place during the 60m hurdles (8.94), freshmen
Amber Brooks finished in seventh place during the women’s 1 mile run (5:19.84), senior
Dreanna Wallace finished in ninth place during the mile run (5:21.85) and the foursome of
Ciara Houston, McCoy,
Sararesa Hudson and #La’Creesha Gore# finished in eighth place during the women’s 4x400m relay
(3:51.01).
On the men’s side, two different men’s events also finished with top-ten honors. Senior
Nealie Whitt finished the men’s shot put in fifth place (15.44m, 50-08.00) while the four-man team of
Jamar Jones,
Brandon Addison,
Phillip Barren and
Greg Roper finished in seventh place during the men’s 4x400m relay (3:17.94).
