DURHAM, N.C. – North Carolina Central University department of athletics has announced that the 30-minute weekly talk show “Eagle Talk” has found a new home and time slot for the 2011-12 athletic season. Champps Americana located inside the Streets of Southpoint in Durham, N.C. has become the new location for the show and it will air at 1:30 p.m. beginning on Tuesday, Aug. 16 on Rejoice 1410 AM, the flagship station of the NCCU Sports Network.

“I’m ecstatic to bring ‘Eagle Talk’ to our restaurant,” said Prince Logan, general manager of Champps Americana. “NCCU is an up-and-coming athletics program and now that they are officially Division I there is no better way for us to partner with them than to bring this show to our place, along with their loyal and passionate fans.”

On Tuesday’s show, Play-by-play voice of the NCCU Sports Network, Chris Hooks, and hall-of-fame running back Joe Simmons will breakdown the 2011 football season in the “MEAC Preview Show” as they go in-depth about all 11 teams in the order of their predicted finish.

“This is another great relationship that our corporate sponsorship team has developed,” said Director of Athletics, Dr. Ingrid Wicker-McCree. “This will not only be a great place for the show, but it is a great place for our fans, coaches, and staff. We look forward to cultivating our relationship with Champps as we continue to grow.”
