SUMTER, S.C. - The North Carolina Central University men's tennis team fell to the Rattlers of Florida A&M, 6-1 Sunday (March 7) in Sumter, S.C. during the MEAC Round-up.
The four-day MEAC Round-up competition consisted of singles and doubles play, including teams from Bethune-Cookman, Howard, South Carolina State, Winston- Salem State, Maryland-Eastern Shore, Norfolk State, Florida A&M.
NCCU sophomore Jose Fabara (Quito, Ecuador) led the Eagles with a set win, defeating Forester Jenkins 4-6, 6-0, 10-8 as the No. 4 singles. Teammate junior Trey Chatman (High Point, N.C.) took his competition to three sets, unfortunately for the Eagles, he was unable to materialize. No. 5 Maurice Wamukowa defeated Chatman 6-2, 4-6, 10-7.
As the MEAC Round-up concludes today, the Eagles will travel to Myrtle Beach, S.C. to face Coastal Carolina March 8 at 3 p.m. and Presbyterian March 9 at 12 p.m.
