DURHAM, N.C. - On Saturday, Sept. 19 at 10:30 a.m., North Carolina Central University will welcome fans and community members to a ribbon-cutting ceremony unveiling a new football pregame festival, pridefully called E-Town.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place at the main entrance to E-Town, located at the track & field gate off of Lawson Street in Durham, N.C. (follow directional signs to parking areas).
NCCU Director of Athletics Dr. Ingrid Wicker-McCree and Eddie the Eagle, the lovable NCCU mascot and mayor of E-Town, will cut the ceremonial ribbon to open E-Town at 10:30 a.m.
To access E-Town, fans must have a game ticket to the 1:30 p.m. gridiron contest between NCCU and Morehead State University at O'Kelly-Riddick Stadium. For ticket information, contact the NCCU Ticket Office at (919) 530-5170 or visit www.NCCUEaglePride.com.
E-Town will feature live music provided as part of the Rock the College Tour, plus inflatable bounce houses, face painting and other activities for kids. The Durham YMCA and the NCCU Parks and Recreation program will oversee the Kids Zone with arts and crafts, relay races, hula hoops, jump ropes and much more.
During the festivities, the NCCU football team and the Marching Sound Machine will walk through E-Town on the way to the game.
In case of inclement weather, some of the activities will be moved inside of McLendon-McDougald Gymnasium.
