Each month, the NCCU Department of Athletics will recognize one of its dedicated supporters and generous contributors with the naming of the NCCU Athletics "Donor of the Month."

The NCCU Athletics Donor of the Month for June 2009 is Chevella Thomas, a three-time NCCU graduate (1982,BBA-Management; 2004, BBA-Accounting-Cum Laude; 2006-MIS, Summa Cum Laude) and current Fixed Assets/Reconciliation Accountant in the Comptroller's Department at her alama mater.

Here is what she had to say in response to a few questions about giving to NCCU Athletics:

1) Why do you contribute to/support NCCU Athletics?

"Students being able to achieve a quality education motivates me to contribute to and support NCCU Athletics."

2) Why do you think that it is important that others contribute/support NCCU Athletics?

"Some families struggle to send their children to college. It's important for others to contribute to and support NCCU Athletics so that our young athletes, who in many cases aren't able to afford a quality education, can attend school and be able concentrate on their studies."
