BUIES CREEK, N.C.-  The North Carolina Central University baseball team took on its second straight team from the Tar Heel State in the Campbell University Camels on Tuesday evening in doubleheader action at Taylor Field.  The Eagles dropped both games 15-5, 18-0 to extend their losing streak to six.
The afternoon's first game witnessed NCCU take an early 4-0 lead on four hits and two Campbell errors.  NCCU batters David Scott and Blake Murray both singled after junior Justin Goodson found his way on the base path on the first Camel error.  Junior Kurt Wilson helped the Eagles plate its first two runs of the day with a two-run double to left field scoring both Goodson and Scott.  Wilson and Murray later scored on the second Camel error putting the final Eagle runs on the board in the inning.
That was the only lead NCCU had on the day.  Campbell tied the contest up at four in the ensuing inning behind two hits and the Eagles first two errors on the day.  Campbell went on to score three or more runs in the first four innings to run away with the victory in game one 15-5.
Kurt Wilson finished the first game with three RBI, giving him five in the last two ballgames.
Game two saw the Camels continue to put the pressure on the Eagles scoring three runs in the second and five in the third to grab hold to 8-0 lead.  The final blow from Campbell came in the fifth and sixth innings where the Camels piled up 10 combined runs including a Chaz Sessoms grand slam to left field, contributing to an eight run fifth inning to allow Campbell to run away with the doubleheader sweep with the 18-0 victory.
The NCCU pitching staff combined to give up nine walks in the loss, and the Eagle offense could only muster four hits in its sixth straight loss.
The Eagles (5-25) host the Florida A&M University Rattlers on Friday afternoon in doubleheader action with a 1:00 first pitch.
