CARY, N.C. - North Carolina Central University softball team dropped its 14th game, falling to Morgan State University, 6-5 and 7-5, at the Thomas E. Brooks Park on a windy Sunday afternoon.
In Game One Michelle Ishida scored the Lady Eagles first run off a RBI single by Desanbra Franklin in the top of the first. The Lady Bears scored four runs in the top of the second inning, by Jasmine Akers' double that bought in Carollyn Howard and Kristian Gowan.
In the bottom of the seventh NCCU scored three unanswered run to cut the Morgan State 6-5. The Lady Eagles left the tying and go ahead runs stranded on second and third in the bottom of the seventh, thus giving Morgan State (6-2) the 6-5 victory.
In Game Two NCCU (0-14) got on the scoreboard first in the first three innings. Morgan State then put up two runs in top of fourth and three runs in the fifth, and two more in the top of the seventh to go ahead of the Lady Eagles 7-3.
NCCU would score its final two runs in the bottom of the seventh and left one stranded.
Davina Brown was the winner in Game One and Carolyn Howard picked up the win in Game Two for the Lady Bears. Kristen Schooler was the losing pitcher in Game One and Michelle Ishida for the second game.
