CARY, N.C. - The Bison homered twice in the first game of a doubleheader including a grand slam by Alison Ford as Bucknell defeated North Carolina Central University 14-3 in game one and 9-0 in game two.

Jessica Synder also went yard on the long ball, which included four RBI's off a three-run home run.

Bucknell struck early taking a 6-0 lead in the first inning. NCCU starting pitcher Michelle Ishida gave up four walks in the inning. Three of those walks came with the bases loaded.

The Lady Eagles Sophia Blue led off in the first inning with a single and advancing to third. A single by Desanbra Franklin scored Blue to cut the Bison lead 6-1. Franklin had 2 RBI's in game one.

BU's Snyder's inside the park homer was in the third inning, and tripled in the fourth, as the Bison scored four runs in that inning. With bases loaded in the fifth innings, Ford cracked a deep right-center field hit that scored her and three more runs.

NCCU broke a scoring drought as Jessica Refojo led the third inning off with a triple. The next two batters for the Lady Eagles struck out, and flied out to right leaving Refojo stranded. Ashanti Stroud singled to score Refojo, but Stroud was called out while rounding second. Refojo scored again for the Lady Eagles to end game one.

The Bison scored all nine of their runs in the opening inning of game two. With the bases loaded for Jane Messersmith, as she doubled to score Ford and Beans and set the runs tally at 4-0. In the second inning the Bison's threaten, with a deep center field hit by Cassie Lloyd, but was snatch away by an over the head catch by Franklin, the Lady Eagles shut down the Bison offensive attack. Franklin started the second inning off with a double to right field. NCCU could not generate any offense. The Lady Eagles defense stopped the Bison attack, and held Bucknell scoreless in the next four innings
