GREENSBORO, N.C. - The North Carolina Central University women's tennis team faced off with arch-rival North Carolina A&T State University on Monday afternoon in Greensboro, N.C., but the visiting Lady Eagles suffered a 5-2 loss.
At No. 1 singles, Kateryna Chorna had a competitive match against NCAT, Shondra Redfern winning 6-4, 6-0. Teammate Maritsann Sinclair won by default over Jaymee Jones.
N.C. Central's Ashley McRae lost a three set tie-break to Destiny Williams, 1-6, 6-1(10-1)
The Lady Eagles' Kateryna Chorna and Ashley Rogers defeated the team of Azeib Nigatu and Shondra Redfern 8-7 in a tiebreaker match. The Aggies won the overall in doubles, winning 8-1 in No.2 doubles and a default in the No. 3 doubles.
