Final Stats

CHAPEL HILL, NC - The North Carolina Central University women's tennis team opened the 2009 season with a loss to Gardner-Webb University 7-0 at the Cone-Kenfield Indoor Tennis Facility on the University of North Carolina campus on Saturday night.

In the No. 1 doubles, NCCU duo Kateryna Chorna and Tatiana Velasquez won 8-5 but the Lady Eagles No. 2 Ashley Rogers/Maria Medina and No. 3 Ashley McRae/Antionette Spain doubles team lost 0-8, 0-8.

From there, the Lady Bulldogs also swept the singles competition, all six winning in straight sets over the Lady Eagles.
