PEMBROKE, N.C. - The North Carolina Central University cross country team had seven runners place in top 20 finishes this past Friday (Sept. 5) at the UNC Pembroke Invitational.
The men received second place overall with an average run time of 23:22.92 followed by Winston-Salem State in 3rd with a time of 23:49.96. The men were led by James Kukat who placed fourth for the Eagles with a time of 22:06.45 followed by Brandon Jones in seventh pacing a time of 22:17.65. Also receiving individual honors for the Eagles were Jamar Jones and Gerald Jones finishing in 13th (23:06.15) and 14th (23:10.93) place.
Finishing in fourth place overall with an average time of 21:50.85 the women were lead by Desinia Johnson, who placed fourth individually with a run time of 20:15.23. Also adding to the individual place holders were Ashley Cooke (21:16.69) and Dreanna Wallace (21:30.95) who finished 13th and 14th respectively.
The Eagles will return to competition on Sept. 12 participating in the Wingate University Invitational. First race is scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m.
